Carl Llewelyn - Registered Electrician / Owner

- Good all round technical knowledge with particular interest in outdoor lighting and home automation
Carl is responsible for overseeing the team and concentrates on customer service, project management and quoting. He is also focusing on further growing the business.
Carl still enjoys working 'on the tools' and since all his apprentices are over 6ft he is the one that gets to crawl thru ceilings and under houses!
In his spare time Carl likes to spend time with his wife and their two young children. He plays touch rugby, indoor cricket and squash and follows the rugby and cricket. He enjoys fishing and waterskiing and has been a member of the Beachlands Volunteer Fire Brigade for many years now.

Luke Henwood - Registered Electrician

Luke qualified in 2009 as a registered electrician and is a very competent electrician. Luke completed his entire apprenticeship with Auckland Wide Electrical and enjoys the wide scope of work carried out by the company.
Luke is a practical thinker and obtains satisfaction from seeing a job through from start to finish. He is now taking on more responsibility for his own jobs and is flourishing with this added duty.
A keen cricketer in his spare time Luke also likes playing touch rugby.

John Lewis - Registered Electrician & Electrical Inspector

John has worked for Auckland Wide Electrical for over 5 years and has many years experience in the industry. John can pretty much lend his hand to any electrical installation, repair or maintenance.
John is a very hard worker. After taking a break in 2010 to spend a year teaching English in China, John is back with Auckland Wide Electrical in a part-time capacity.
Outside of work John loves tinkering in his garage and spending time with his grandchildren.

Mark Champion - Electrician

Mark joined us in October 2007 as an Adult Apprentice. He had already completed much of the theory work of his apprenticeship through the Open Polytechnic of NZ and finished his apprenticeship with Auckland Wide Electrical by applying his theory knowledge to the practical side of electrical work. Mark qualified as a Registered Electrician in March 2011.
Mark is a bit of a perfectionist and likes to get the job done right the first time. His strengths are customer communication and good computer skills.
In his spare time Mark likes to spend time with his two daughters and is a member of his local Toastmasters Club. He also considers himself to be an amateur astronomer.

Josh Simpson - Electrician

Josh joined the company in early 2011. He already knew some of the team as he has worked with us previously as a subcontractor. Josh qualified as a Registered Electrician at the end of 2010 and joins Auckland Wide Electrical with the aim of taking on more responsibility and to enjoy the variety of work carried out by the company.
Josh and his partner recently had a baby and have moved into a new home, which he is busy renovating.

Michael King - Apprentice Electrician
- 3rd Year Apprentice Electrician

Michael has been working with Auckland Wide Electrical since the start of 2010. Now in the third year of his apprenticeship Michael is working hard in 2011 to finish his theory component at Polytech and aims to sit the Trade Certicate Exam at the end of the year.
Outside of work Michael enjoys sport, sport and more sport. Especially rugby and touch rugby.

Melanie Llewelyn - Owner/Office Manager
Melanie is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the office and is responsible for month-end procedures and business accounting. Together with Carl she is also focussed on strategic issues and growing the company. Melanie and Carl also have two children (Jamie – 6, and Amelia – 4) who keep her pretty busy as she juggles being a Mum and a businesswoman.
Melanie actually has a Degree in Geography but since starting the business with Carl in 2002 she has completed many business courses including MYOB Accounting and Payroll, Business Planning, Advertising, Financial Management, Sales and Marketing.
In any spare time Melanie has she enjoys walking, swimming, Zumba, “doing coffee”, going to quiz night, and hosting impromptu BBQs. She also follows the rugby.
